Nordic Sponsor Nordic Legal Tech Day 2025 Stockholm

Stefan Kim interview, PSA, Nordic Sponsor nordiclegaltechday

Legal design and AI – in your view, how do these two areas intersect and complement each other?

For me, legal design and AI work best when they are seen as two sides of the same coin. Legal design is about understanding the user, simplifying the complex, and making legal information practical. AI is typically about processing large volumes of data and generating outputs at speed. When you bring them together, you can create solutions that are both intelligent and usable. AI can surface insights or draft content quickly, but without design thinking, AI outputs risk being unclear or impractical. Legal design ensures that AI outputs are shaped into something clients and colleagues can actually use and trust.

As technology transforms the legal industry at a rapid pace, what’s your strategy for staying ahead? Any practical advice you can share?

Our approach is to keep a close eye on the market and to stay engaged with what’s happening. That includes numerous touchpoints with clients, prospects, and legal tech firms, as well as attending leading industry events where you get to discuss first-hand what law firms and corporate legal teams are experimenting with and experiencing. Internally, we focus on testing tools in practice and learning from small pilots before scaling up. One very practical tip is that AI has made it much easier to build and test app mockups. What used to take weeks of development can now be sketched, adjusted, and tested in a fraction of the time, which lowers the barrier for innovation projects and helps us bring ideas to life more quickly.

”Nordic Legal Tech Day has a good balance between hearing from start-ups, technology providers, law firms, and corporate legal teams, which always sparks new ideas”.

Ahead of Nordic Legal Tech Day in Stockholm on October 15th, what are you most excited to experience or discuss?

I am looking forward to meeting peers and exchanging experiences in this open and dynamic setting. Nordic Legal Tech Day has a good balance between hearing from start-ups, technology providers, law firms, and corporate legal teams, which always sparks new ideas. Personally, I am keen to hear how law firms and corporate legal teams are managing AI adoption and AI-powered knowledge management initiatives and how clients are reacting to this new landscape.

What trends or innovations do you expect will dominate the conversations at this year’s event?

AI will dominate the agenda, but I expect the focus will shift from “what is possible” to “what is responsible and sustainable in practice.” Beyond AI, knowledge management and collaboration platforms are moving up the priority list. AI is driving a resurgence in KM and there is still untapped potential in improving both internal and external collaboration.

One last thing before you go. There’s a rumor going around about a new app you built. Care to share?

I assume you are referring to our latest legal AI related product initiatives. These are not off-the-shelf products, they are both grounded in our position as custodians of our client’s key data (DMS, ERP/PMS, HR, CRM etc.). We are working with two different key initiatives here. The first one, our Custodian AI Data Pipeline, is all about connecting key data sources (including iManage) – at scale – to the various AI tools used by the firm/organisation. This is a technology-agnostic approach. The second one, our Custodian AI Connector, serves a similar purpose, but is based on partnerships with legal AI solution providers, and thus closely tied to a specific legal AI solution.

Sounds great! Thank you so much Stefan for taking the time and being apart of our event. See you in October! // NLTD crew
