LegalWorks proudly presents the seventh annual Nordic Legal Tech Day, to be held on October 7 in Posthuset, Stockholm.
“We are very excited about this year’s event, which we hope will take place in a real-life format this fall. Last year’s Nordic Legal Tech Day was transformed into a digital format, which was a very-much appreciated event and a real success. Now we feel like the legal tech market is aching for a real-life connection, with a physical event. We are all looking forward to meet face to face” says Anna-Mariam Österlind, marketing coordinator at LegalWorks.
Nordic Legal Tech Day is a concept created to lower the threshold into the legal tech market and bridge the gap between legal tech innovators and lawyers. Every year, the industry matures, making the Nordic Legal Tech Day a central event full of interactions and knowledge sessions about legal tech tools and the digitalization of the legal industry.
Two main areas for the 2021 event will be the regulation of AI and the rise of online legal services. Invited thought leaders and panelists will discuss if the standard billable hours system is threatened by scalable online services platforms and how new EU regulations will impact the fast-growing AI technology.
“The new proposal from the European Commission to regulate the AI opens up for many questions – for the tech industry, but also for the legal community. The increased use of AI is a great opportunity in many sectors, including the legal industry, while many ethical aspects are yet to be solved. Is more regulation the answer?” says Ulf Lindén, COO and co-founder of LegalWorks.
This year’s event will also bring up aspects relevant for the public sector. In addition to the topic of AI, the use of cloud services is a major challenge for both private and public sector.
“SaaS solutions and cloud services are more relevant than ever with the Schrems II case. What does it mean for the public sector and how can we secure the use of cloud services from here on? These are questions still out in the open. Cloud services experts and GDPR lawyers will host sessions during the day to bring more clarity into these issues,” says Leif Frykman, co-founder of LegalWorks.
The global sponsors of the Nordic Legal Tech Day concept are Karnov Group and EY Law. Karnov Group is a leading supplier and partner for all legal, tax and accounting professionals. EY Law provides a legal services and consultancy platform with global coverage for all legal matters.
